CPCT Program

Certified Patient Care Technician

Training for the patient care technician program includes skill subjects such as Phlebotomy, EKGs, and CPR. Skills in this program will prepare students to carry out a multitude of responsibilities including: recording vital signs,
collecting lab specimens, and assisting patients with personal hygiene. The skills and knowledge you attain over the 10 week program will lead you to a career within hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and more!

Upon successful completion of the CNA exam; PCTs are eligible to work in licenced nursing homes and other facilities as a CNA within the state of Georgia. PCT training programs cover more areas of patient care than do nursing assistant training programs. Graduates of a PCT training program may be eligible for certification exams to become Phlebotomy technicians and EKG technicians. PCTs are required to have more hours in the home health and hospital settings than a nursing assistant.
